Tara Brown, LMFT
Tara is from Owasso, OK and attended OSU for her undergrad and Valdosta State University where she received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her husband was Air Force, so she traveled around living in Georgia, OK City and New Mexico, while she worked towards her licensure in LMFT. She has been practicing counseling for over 14 years and licensed for 11 years. Her experience includes, but is not limited to, working in an inpatient setting, individual, family and group counseling.She has over 12 years experience working in multiple outpatient settings including work with adolescents in the juvenile system and overseeing an intensive outpatient program for individuals stepping out of an inpatient facility.
Her latest experience includes intensive trauma training while working with therapeutic foster kids in the foster care system. There she received training in problematic sexual behaviors in young children and was trained in the therapeutic model Trust-Based Relational Intervention to help children learn to trust and heal from their trauma.Tara feels one of her greatest callings is to provide support for individuals and families who are stuck in finding solutions to their problems.
Outside of counseling, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband of 18 years and 4 children. Traveling, getting lost in nature, black coffee, photography and spending time with her golden retriever are just a few of her favorite things.
